Children with Down Syndrome has low muscle tone and lack of muscle strength which affects their sensory motor development.
This video is about the progression of the motor milestones of a child with Down syndrome and different exercises done at TICKLES: Child Therapy Centre, India.

Activities/ exercises are the combination of Neuro-Development Treatment (NDT) and Sensory Integration Therapy (SIT) to achieve the motor milestones of child from floor mobility (creeping, crawling), to sitting and to independent walking.
Use of dynamic surfaces and swings are used in therapy for balance and postural control. Treadmill training is very effective to help children learn the stepping movements by supporting the body weight by harness and slowly and progressively allow full weight bearing and progress the child towards independent walking.
