We are celebrating Siblings, here at The Down Syndrome Centre, this World Down Syndrome Day (21st March)!
Our new Same as our Siblings campaign aims to show that children with Down syndrome are the same as all children. They have the same interests, hobbies, likes and dislikes as their siblings and their friends.
Same as our Siblings features 9 sets of siblings, each doing something they enjoy together from playing hurling in their back garden to singing and dancing around their kitchens.
At the outset, Same as our Siblings aimed to break down stereotypes, promote inclusion and celebrate all levels of ability, but as we marvelled at the love and care evident between the siblings in the video we believe the campaign has evolved into a celebration of love – sibling love!
