The voices of people with Down syndrome reach the United Nations

To mark World Down Syndrome Day 2026, Down Syndrome International will host two key events at the United Nations, where people with Down syndrome and experts from around the world will speak up for real inclusion.

New York – 23 March 2026

The 15th World Down Syndrome Day Conference will take place at UN Headquarters. This year’s conference will focus on the theme:
“Together Against Loneliness”, exploring how real inclusion is the answer to the isolation experienced by many people with intellectual disabilities.

Geneva – 19 and 21 March 2026

The United Nations in Geneva will host a range of activities, workshops and participatory spaces where people with Down syndrome themselves will share their experiences and advocate for their rights on an international stage.

At Down TV, we are proud to join this global movement by making space for every voice.

We invite people with Down syndrome, families, and allies to share their videos on Down TV, helping us amplify stories of inclusion, connection and belonging around the world.
