Join Down Syndrome International in Geneva to mark World Down Syndrome Day with a series of special events at the United Nations Palais des Nations. From 20th to 22nd March, representatives from governments, organisations, families, and advocates will come together to promote the rights, inclusion, and well-being of people with Down syndrome.
This event, organised by the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and other key partners, provides a unique opportunity to learn, share experiences, and reinforce global commitments to improving support systems for individuals with Down syndrome.

The event will open with a General Discussion on the right of persons with disabilities to participate in political and public life. Organised by the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, this session will feature expert panels addressing key challenges and opportunities.

This celebration will feature keynote speeches from UN representatives, Down syndrome advocates, and global leaders, as well as a live performance to honour efforts in strengthening support systems for individuals with Down syndrome.
